We are happy to announce that Cory Wallace is joining the senior coaching group. Cory will have responsibility for the 2nd team, alongside supporting the 1st team front row forwards. Cory is known to most at Hoppers, having spent the last few years coaching and captaining the social teams. He is a very respected and experienced coach and brings a wealth of experience to the group. Josh Ryan and Will Goodier will be support Cory in this role and will continue playing for the club.

Cory said, “I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to take on this role with Hoppers 2s. After five years of playing and coaching the 3rd team, I had stepped back from senior level coaching to help the U15s. The club reached out to me about the 2s position, and I saw it as a fantastic opportunity to further develop my coaching skills whilst taking on a new challenge. A couple of key areas I’m focusing on are developing a stronger team culture and bringing in extra players within the club to help build depth, create healthy competition for places in the squad, as well as strengthening the teams below.”

Head Coach Dan Orwin said “The 2nd Team is extremely important to us at Hoppers. I’ve said previously that we need a strong 2nd Team, with players who are genuinely pushing for 1st Team places, and we have had this for the past two seasons. Cory has been working with us since mid-November, so it is nice to finally formalise his role with us.”
