This Saturday, we travel to Leeds for Match Day #8. After a good win last Saturday, at home to Hull (45-29), we are currently 6th in the table.
Leeds Tykes are one of the standout teams in the League, having won 7 from 7 so far, including an impressive away win at Sheffield (12-13) last week.
Ahead of the season, Leeds were tipped by most to be the promotion favourites, after falling agonisingly short last season. For us, we are under no illusions that this will be a tough game, and we will need to be at our best if we are to get anything from the game. We believe that, on our day, we can compete with any team in this league, but we must get the performance right over the full 80 minutes.
Leeds have shown that they will punish teams who are ill-disciplined, and who struggle to keep possession of the ball. Last season, at Leeds, we were in the game on 60 minutes, but four late trys for Leeds meant that we came away with a single, four-try bonus point. We must believe in ourselves, and we must front up on Saturday!
Finally, congratulations to Declan Norrington who made his 50th 1st team appearance recently, in our game against Otley. Dec is a back row forward who has established himself as a first team regular in the past two seasons and is now a key part of our team. Also, well done to prop forward, Daz Hill, who made his 1st Team debut off the bench against Hull.
