The 1st XV return to league action on Saturday after a rest week. The visitors to Lightfoot Green are Hull Ionians who currently sit in 8th place in the table, 1 point and 1 place behind Hoppers.
Both sides come into the game on the back of narrow defeats, Hoppers pushing Leeds Tykes close and Ionians losing out to Tynedale.
Looking ahead to the game Hoppers Head Coach Dan Orwin said "We come into this game off the back of two losses, away at Wharfedale, and at home to Sheffield a fortnight ago. I’ve said previously that the league is very tight, and a single win or loss can see a team move up or down several places. Every game and every point are important. We need to start our run-in to Christmas well, with a solid performance and good result today."
Players to watch for Ionians include George Mewburn who leads the side with 7 tries and Lewis Minikin who has racked up 119 points (league leader). For Hoppers Harry Holden has racked up an astonishing 14 tries and leads the whole division whilst Greg Smith sits 3rd in the league table with 97 points.
