That makes it a run of five losses in a row for the Hoppers, as two tries from Izaak Gosling and Harry Holden wasn’t enough for any bonus points.
Hoppers made a good start to the match, with Josh Ree slotting away two penalties in the opening ten minutes to give themselves a 6-0 lead after some early pressure.
The opening twenty minutes from Hoppers was strong, with very good discipline and some strong defence, but from there on the flood gates opened, with Sheffield scoring four tries in the next ten minutes.
Cameron Catleugh scored first, slipping past his defender, before running round the outside to grab the try.
The next came from Elliot Fisher as a quick tap penalty and offload saw him fly over the line.
Just as Sheffield were getting into the match, Hoppers were reduced to 14 men, Gosling being shown a yellow after the side gave away several penalties.
And it went from bad to worse, with Fisher grabbing his second, the attack slipping through before a couple of phases later the scrum half went over.
The bonus point was wrapped up by Robert Fawdry on the half hour mark, with yet another breakthrough, and a simple finish for the flanker.
Fawdry was shown a yellow, and that allowed Hoppers to have a good chance, their maul pushed up to the line, before Gosling crashed over from close range, giving Sheffield a 15-point lead at half time.
Just four minutes into the second half, and Hoppers had another yellow card, this time Rory Brand being sent to the sin bin, allowing Fisher to grab his hattrick when he peeled off the back of the maul to score.
Ree was also shown a yellow card as the rain came hammering down, and with 20 minutes to go Ryan Burrows had Sheffield’s sixth with yet another breakthrough allowing them an easy run in.
With the rain coming down, both teams kept making mistakes in the last twenty minutes, Hoppers getting close, but slipping or dropping the ball at key moments.
But with five minutes to go, they had a second, with hooker Harry Holden touching down off the back of the maul.
But no more tries came for Hoppers, leaving them coming away with no points, and a fifth loss in a row.
