Hoppers scored five tries, with Tyler Spence grabbing two in his last home outing before retirement, but two late tries for Lymm saw them pull away and win 44-31.
Lymm made a lightning start to the match, going 14-0 up within just the first five minutes, with Will Day grabbing a double through to breakaway tries, slipping around the outside.
Hoppers responded not long after with a try of their own, Josh Ree breaking through before offloading to Tyler Spence who made his way over.
A penalty from Alfred Simpson followed to grow the visitors lead, but another try for Hoppers after 20 minutes saw them go three behind, this time Ree stretching out after the ball travelled quickly out of the maul.
Two tries before half time for Lymm, saw them take a 15-point lead into the break.
The first came through Callum Morris who took a quick tap penalty from five metres out to crash over, and the second from Sam Wadsworth who went over after running across the backline.
Momentum was with the hosts however at the start of the second half, as they scored three tries in the opening 20 minutes.
The first came from Spence who snuck his way in in the corner, before two rolling mauls were touched down by Josh Longson and Danny Maher respectively to give Hoppers the lead for the first time.
But despite a yellow card being shown to Andrew Rowley of Lymm, the momentum shifted away from Hoppers.
And Lymm scored two tries and a penalty the final 13 minutes, Isaac Millachip scored first powering through the defence, before Morris picked a Hoppers pass out on the 22 to break past and deny Hoppers any more bonus points.
Hoppers find themselves 13th in the table with just one game to go, away to Chester on 26th April.
